Small organic-shaped necklace with wenteltrap shell relief.
The shell in its hand-sculpted pool frame are made of fine vitrified porcelain. The relief was moulded from an actual tiny wenteltrap seashell collected on Okinawa island of Japan. The original wentletrap shell is also white and has a porcelain-like appearance. These shells are notable for their intricately geometric shell architecture, the word wentletrap originated in Dutch (wenteltrap), and it means spiral staircase. These shells are also sometimes called "staircase shells".
The porcelain piece was fired at high temperature in ceramics kiln to achieve the vitrified state. The shell relief rests in a tiny pool filled with vibrant turquoise ceramic glaze. The pendant is suspended on a thin silver-coloured chain.
