Urchin Cove / Black Ceramics Pendant with Sea Treasure

Pebble-shaped pendant made of black ceramics with a tiny sea urchin test from Okinawa island.

The ceramic piece was hand-sculpted from black clay and a deepening in the middle was covered with a combination of ceramic glazes. It serves as a chamber containing a real tiny sea urchin test. The shell was picked by hand from the beach sand on Okinawa Island in Japan in the summer of 2023. The doming surface of the covering resin provides a magnifying effect, revealing the intricate structure of the shell inside.

The ceramic part of this pendant was fired in a kiln thrice at different temperatures to achieve the final look. It exists in a SINGLE VERSION ONLY. By purchasing this item, you become the sole owner of a unique and one-of-a-kind piece.

The price includes one pendant on a thin chain.

Each item from my shop will be sent to you in individually designed handmade packaging supplied with a description tag. It is hence ready to be gifted either to yourself or to someone special (no pricing information is included inside the packaging).
