The Dutch House / Porcelain Jewelry Display

Unique jewellery display crafted from vitrified white porcelain. Because your jewellery deserves a house of its own.

This design was inspired by my last visit to the Netherlands. Shaped like a tall, three-storey townhouse, the building’s facade features tall, rectangular windows, evoking the experience of walking through Dutch streets, where the open, curtain-less windows of private homes reveal interiors like curated gallery spaces or shopfronts. At the base part, the walls are decorated with reliefs of spring wildflowers — specifically forget-me-nots and speedwell. These delicate, persistent plants often appear in the overlooked corners of cities: growing between cobblestones, at the base of walls, or in narrow cracks where soil shouldn't exist. Their presence speaks of the timid urban spring, of how nature reasserts itself gently but unmistakably, even in the heart of stone and brick. Like many old-town buildings, the form of this jewellery house is slightly irregular, with gently bevelled and flowing lines that adds character and warmth.

Primarily conceived to showcase long, statement earrings, the design allows for the accommodation of nearly all types of jewellery and accessories. Hiding behind the tactile, unglazed porcelain exterior, the surface of the inside storeys is gentle and smooth due to a matte ceramic glaze that protects the displayed jewellery from scratches. A variety of arranged slots and openings can hold different types of earrings—hooks, clasps, and studs alike—as well jewellery of other kinds.
