The Okinawa Reliefs brooch is an exquisite tribute to the minuscule seashells found along the shores of Okinawa, Japan. It combines the intricate beauty of Okinawa's seashells with a nod to the region's traditional architecture, symbolised by the vibrant red clay reminiscent of the red-tiled roofs adorning Okinawan traditional houses and red-clay Shisa lion-dog figures guarding their doors.

Highly detailed relief meticulously mimics the delicate textures and contours of the seashells, capturing their intricate beauty with stunning detail. This relief was created using moulds based on real tiny seashells collected by hand from the beach sand of Okinawa Island. This wearable work of art encapsulates the spirit of Okinawa and reflects the timeless beauty found within the tiniest treasures. The brooch is adorned with a complex combination of pottery glazes, which allowed it to achieve a unique violet-blue tint evocative of the dusk sky and sea colour after the sun rolls behind the horizon. The ceramic part of the brooch was fired in a kiln three times to achieve its final look. It represents a truly unique one-of-a-kind accessory.
