My Trees / Black Ceramics Gift set

Black ceramics gift set.

This set contains:
- ceramic vase
- ceramic necklace
- a small notebook with relief pages made from recycled handmade paper
- handmade gift box made from recycled paper and card

A small triangular vase made with black ceramic clay is covered with whimsical hand-carved reliefs featuring organic-shaped tower houses surrounded by tall trees. A combination of pottery glazes accents the background of the relief. The vase size is approximately 9 x 4 x 4 cm.

Ginkgo biloba (maidenhair tree) is sometimes called a "living fossil". It is the only currently living species of the Ginkgophyta division. These trees have inhabited Earth for at least 270 million years. They have unique fan-shaped leaves which no other contemporary seed plant possesses. The pendant was created using a thin layer of black ceramics imprinted with a small Ginkgo biloba leaf collected in Brittany in the fall of 2019. Before creating the imprint, this leaf was dried between the book pages to preserve the natural vein structure. The subtle relief is accented with a combination of ceramic glazes, resulting in a unique pattern of shade and shape. The pendant rests on a thin antique-bronze chain with a spring-ring clasp placed unconventionally next to the main piece.

A small notebook included in this set is made from recycled handmade paper. Each sheet was pooled individually using different fabrics. As a result, every page has a different structure and relief. Some pages also contain imprints made with real ginkgo leaves. The paper pulp used to create the notebook was supplemented with varied amounts of coffee, resulting in slightly different tints and a light coffee fragrance. The cover of the notebook and the gift box made for this set are decorated with imprints created with black and gold ink applied on dry ginkgo leaves.

This set was produced in a smoke-free studio. It exists in a SINGLE VERSION ONLY. By purchasing this item you become a sole owner of a unique and one-of-a-kind piece.
