Porcelain earrings and pendant set with cyanotyped fern leaf prints.

The main pieces in this set were hand-sculpted from Ming Po porcelain (not plastic or "cold porcelain") and fired in a high-temperature kiln.

The prints were applied to each porcelain piece using dried fern leaves and the cyanotype technique. This technique is a handcrafted process that develops an image using a combination of chemical dye and sunlight. The invention of this method is attributed to John Frederick William Hershel, an astronomer and physicist, who introduced cyanotypes in the 1800s. The term "cyanotype" comes from the Greek - kuáneos, "dark blue" + τύπος - túpos, "mark, impression, type". Unlike traditional photography using silver salt, cyanotypes use a slow-reacting formulation containing iron salt, which produces the famous Prussian blue color when exposed to near-ultraviolet and blue light.

The price is for a pair of earrings and a pendant mounted on a 20-inch chain, which can be closed in two positions (18.5 and 20 inches).
