Large porcelain earrings with historical scientific illustration from a 19th-century European book on fossil cephalopods, showing an ammonite shell in cross-section.

This listing is for porcelain earrings with archival scientific illustration. Each piece is hand-sculpted from strong porcelain, fired to its vitrified state. The surface carries illustration of ammonite from 19th century scientific publication, transferred with manganese oxide. The back side of the porcelain circles is covered with bronze metallic glaze.

The porcelain pieces are about 4 cm in diameter, giving them the bold scale of statement earrings. In spite of their size finesse of the delicate porcelain sheet keeps them light and comfortably wearable.

These earrings were produced in a single version and represent a unique piece of jewellery.
