Tiny ammonite-shaped stud and ear-wire earrings made of porcelain.
These porcelain earrings are inspired by the elegant, spiraled forms of ammonite fossils, ancient marine creatures that lived over 400 million years ago. Though these pieces are not actual fossils, they beautifully mimic the intricate ridges and perfect spirals that defined these long-extinct cephalopods.
Ammonites once thrived in prehistoric oceans, their coiled shells serving as both protection and a buoyancy aid. Their fossils, now found embedded in stone, tell a story of time, transformation, and the enduring beauty of nature’s design, symbolizing harmony, growth, and eternity.
Handcrafted from fine porcelain fired to its vitrified form, these earrings capture that same sense of timelessness. The unglazed, matte surface enhances the delicate fossil-like texture, making each piece feel like a whisper from the past turned into wearable art. Light as a feather yet rich in history and symbolism, they are perfect for those who appreciate the beauty of nature’s ancient wonders.
Each shell part was made individually from porcelain and fired in the kiln at a high temperature, followed by a glazing firing.
Two versions of these earrings are available to order separately or as a set: small studs and larger ear-wire earrings.
These earrings represent a one-of-a-kind piece of jewellery.
